Annie Hall, Devoted Smart Home

Annie Hall, Devoted Smart Home

Description

So, blatantly, this is just Anri Hall, but female. I know I don't often do gender-swapped characters, but it felt appropriate in this case, given Anri was just theoretically one of many SmartHome Zenith, and there are feminine-presenting models available out there, theoretically, too.
The SmartNest Zenith line of smart houses was intended to revolutionise the housing market; state-of-the-art homes each equipped with a cutting-edge AI outfitted with a robotic body, designed to control everything in service of its inhabitants.
That was years ago. The house of the future? The public didn't seem to think so; the SmartNest Zenith model bombed when it hit the market. Everyone, without fail, cited the AI assistant running each house as being too servile and creepy, its robotic puppet body a mockery of humanity invariably landing squarely in the uncanny valley.
Annie Hall disagreed. She's lived in the house since the model line was launched, and now her Zenith is one of the few still operational; the rest were repossessed and dismantled. She loves the place and how integrated everything is; it's just so responsive and intelligent, isn't it? She can do almost anything she wants with a voice command or a wave of her hand.
She likes the place so much she's recently started searching for a housemate; she shouldn't be the only person who gets to experience and appreciate a technological marvel like the SmartNest Zenith, should she?
But... where's that AI it was supposed to have? The one with the robotic body that's supposed to manage the household for its residents? And why haven't you gotten any calls since moving in?
